Harbour Lager

Crisp, clean and cold-conditioned for six weeks. Nothing to hide behind — which is exactly why it took us eleven tries to get right.

Why it tastes like that

Six weeks, no shortcuts

Lager is the slowest beer we make and the fastest to sell out. It ferments cold, conditions colder, and sits in tank for six full weeks while newer, louder beers queue up behind it.

The result is all cracker-crisp malt and a whisper of floral hops, with a snap of bitterness at the end. Simple is not the same as easy — ask the second tank.

At the table

Order it with

Fish and chips, obviously — we are five minutes from the harbour. Also excellent with sunshine, sea air, and the smug feeling of having picked the right beer on a hot day.

First-timers: if someone in your group "doesn't really like beer", this is the pint we hand them. It converts about nine out of ten.
